Like that's going to do him any good in the states.
I think Ccrane has some fm transmitters.
Don't remember the site off hand.

By fm transmitors do you mean listening stations on fm or broadcusting? If you can broadcust with them is it legal to do it without a permition? And also if you can trasmit with them what happens if you interfer with an existing legal station? And also how far do they transmit?

I know i asked many questions but the subject is interesting.

You can get low-power FM transmitters that wil only transmit for a very short range. The site mentioned in the last post is ccradio.com. They've lots of fun products.

i just bought the C. Crane FMT fm transmitter with AC adapter from amazon.com. Out of the box the transmission is crappy. But there's a screw under an adhesive plate on the bottom of the unit that will allow you to increase the unit's power five fold. Once this is done, it works great. I now sit outside with my new bluetooth wireless keyboard and transmit the signal from my computer to the stereo outside.

Also, this transmitter comes with a y cable with a female eighth inch jack on one end, and two RCA style jacks on the other. This could be hooked up to a satellite or digital cable box. I have yet to try this.

i found a decent fm transmitter now. it's a techtrum mini pll fm transmitter clear signal.

I'm really disappointed with the C.Crane transmitter, even after increasing its transmit power. It still reaches only about 30 feet or so with anything approaching a decent signal. After that, the signal drops to nothing quite quickly.

i suppose if you want the FCC knocking at your door, you could purchase the FM transmitters from ramsey electronics.

I don't know much about fm transmitters but it does sound interesting to me. What exactly can you use them for anyway? I heard someone say something using a wireless keyboard. That would be neat. I could sit outside and hang out on the zone. lol

They are used for transmitting audio at a short distance from a computer, or Stereo or anything else that has a headphone plug.
You use a radio to listen to it or record what you're listening too.
